Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and MyGroupEvents ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What the service does

MyGroupEvents collects the upcoming events from the Facebook groups you choose and shows them to you in one list. It does this through a Chrome extension that runs in your own browser, using your own Facebook login, and a website where you read the results.

2. Who can use it

• You must be at least 13 and old enough to use Facebook in your country.
• You must give a real email address you can read, and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• You must be a member of any Facebook group whose events you sync.

3. Facebook and your Facebook account

Facebook can change its pages at any time, which can stop the extension from working until we update it. We make no promise that it will always work with Facebook.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass, spam or harm anyone;
• use the extension on Facebook accounts or groups that are not yours, or to read content you are not allowed to see;
• try to break, overload, probe or bypass the security of the service, or use it to collect data in bulk about other people;
• copy, resell or republish other people's Facebook content beyond your own personal use;
• share your account or let others use it in a way that harms the service.

5. Free plan, ads and the ad-free plan

• The service is free and supported by ads. All features work on the free plan.
• You can remove the ads with the ad-free subscription, $2.99 per year. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our seller of record, and renew each year until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from the link Lemon Squeezy gives you (use Manage subscription on your dashboard). You keep ad-free access until the end of the period you paid for. After that, ads come back.
• If something went wrong with a payment, contact us and we will try to sort it out. Refunds are at our discretion and are processed through Lemon Squeezy.
• We may change the price or the plans. We will give notice on the site before a change affects a renewal.
• We may give some accounts the ad-free plan at no charge. We can end that at any time.

6. Your content and your data

The group names and event information in your account come from Facebook and belong to Facebook and the people who posted them. You give us permission to store and display that information to you so that we can provide the service. How we handle it is explained in our privacy policy.

7. Ending your use

• You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. That removes your account, groups and events.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. We will try to tell you why when we can.

8. No guarantees

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete or up to date. Event details come from Facebook and may be missing, late or wrong. Always check an event on Facebook before relying on it.

9. Limit of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost events or opportunities, or losses caused by Facebook's actions. Our total responsibility to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem, or $2.99 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we will tell you on the site or by email. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept it.
